Craftsmanship Meets Elegance in Every Handbag

Some things are made by hand. Others are made by heart.

For Rosita Bate as founder of EZIMME, crochet began long before it became a business. It began as refuge. During seasons marked by uncertainty, the echoes of the Anglophone crisis, the gunshot sounds and the quiet questions that follow after university about what comes next, she found herself reaching for a hook and thread. With every loop and every stitch, she discovered that creating could become a language of hope.

She has always believed there is a sacredness in making things by hand. Every piece deserves time, patience and care because the hands remember what the heart is trying to say. What began as a coping mechanism slowly became a calling.

At first, she began crocheting dresses for women; garments that would celebrate the beauty, strength and sculpture of the female body but somewhere along the journey, her vision changed. She realised that a woman needs more than something beautiful to wear; she needs something that journeys with her. A faithful companion that carries the little pieces of her life while reminding her of who she is.

Every bag is handmade with intention. No two stitches are perfectly alike because neither are the women who carry them. Every knot, every loop, every imperfection is part of a story patiently woven together with love.

For her, crochet is more than craft. It is emotion made visible. It is the gentle rhythm of a needle piercing through thread, transforming moments of pain into beauty, uncertainty into purpose and hope into something you can hold in your hands.
She attended Saker Baptist College, where her appreciation for discipline, excellence and creativity began to take shape. She later earned a degree in Accounting, a profession she continues to build alongside her creative practice. While numbers sharpen her precision, crochet gives voice to her imagination. Together, they reflect the balance that defines EZIMME where structure meets artistry and purpose meets beauty.

Through EZIMME, she invites women to carry more than their everyday essentials. She invites them to carry comfort, companionship, resilience and a quiet reminder that beautiful things are often built one stitch at a time.

Every stitch weaves a story of elegance and empowerment.
